| About the Department |
|
The U.G course of our department was established during the year 1989-90 and P.G. during the year 1993 – 94. It has developed with greater emphasis on quality in the field of Science and Technology. The aim of our department is to produce efficient students. This department gives more importance to equip the students to meet the challenges of the highly competitive industrial field. The department is well known for its discipline and panniers for various activities.
In our department we are offering the U.G and P.G degree with general Chemistry (Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry).

| Admission Eligibility |
|
U.G
- Should be a pass in Hsc (10+2).
- Should have Chemistry as one of the subject in school level with Physics and Maths / Zoology subjects.
- Maths or Science group student in HSC.
P.G
- Should be a pass in B.Sc Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Should have physics and Maths / Zoology as allied subjects.
- Admissions are strictly followed according to the norms of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.

| Placement and Training Cell |
|
The placement and training cell of our college tries to bring the prospective employers closer to the campus. We give emphasis to Industry – Institute interaction and have closer ties with industries. The placement cell conducts career guidance. Group discussions and interview technique sessions and help the students to identify jobs suited to their skills. Students are placed for project training in reputed and leading industrial concerns.

Our department is working hard to life our department as the Research department. Pioneer to that we established our lab with minimum sufficient equipments. We are interested in doing the projects in the area of

- We have separate department library with a large number of books and journals which will be very useful for the students to carry out their projects
- Internet connectivity using VSAT and ERNET is successfully operating in our campus and all the students are permitted to use the internet facility
